Piano improvisations by Pascale Berthelot

From Saison secret , her latest disc recorded during a completely improvised recording session in November 2018, Pascale Berthelot is making a turning point in her career as a pianist. “Until now Keith Jarrett alone had accustomed us to these forms of instantaneous composition (…) given the exceptional quality of the result, we hope that this will not remain an isolated case, also wondering if Berthelot will also propose this approach in his concerts?* » And yes! Invited for the second consecutive year to the Prieuré Saint-Nicolas, Pascale Berthelot gives us the pleasure and honor of returning specifically for an improvisation set. Let's enter and explore with the talented pianist this universe of poetic and Jazzi chords.

*Mario Calvitti, Allaboutjazz

Pascale Berthelot is a musician of sensitivity, and I should say, of extraordinary sensitivity. For her , music is an experience of the mind and body, a transcendence of each day . Gérard Pesson (composer)

In his disk Secret season , Pascale Berthelot presents what has emerged on the open horizon of the unknown, that is to say an abyssal field, little music from the antechamber of a new musical territory. “This album will remain an absolute masterpiece, one of the most beautiful contemporary works for piano. »Mario Calvitti, Allaboutjazz
